What class should we run?
Club Class
What do you guys think about haveing a club specific class outside of the SCT's? The problem is that we all over the place as far as how they are built. So here's what I propose. Let's vote on a class and set limits. These cars will be just be for racing at the backyard tracks, so there will be no need to beef them up, or bling them out. They can be electric or nitro we just have to figure out what would be equal. So we have some voting to do.

Re: Club Class
Keep it or donate it to the club I have no use for it. I dont really care about the club class as far as what we go with. I will just get whatever needed if I dont have it. Just keep it cheap and durable

Re: Club Class
What if we each did a build and do something off the wall. All frankenstein trucks and limit motors to stock or equivelant. Trucks cannot be a stock sold vehicle, but some kind of outrageous conversion.

Re: Club Class
if we are going to race them i would say . . spec the motor, spec the battery and spec the back tires if 2wd, that would be enough to keep the racing part competitive.

Re: Club Class

Re: Club Class
How about mini Ts, mini desert trucks, mini monster trucks, mini sct's, 16-18 scale. Not everybody has them but we can probably hussle up a few. I have 2 mini T's and a 1/16 slash. As we dont ever take those to races, it would be fun as club cars. I never mind loaning out my extras as long as he who borrows replaces his breakages.
Re: Club Class
that's a good thought. what do you guys think?

Re: Club Class
I am good with the 1/18, got a losi and some rc18's that need a little tlc also. I really kind of like that new losi buggy. Looks scale and durable w/rollcage. Comes with a 2.4 also so no channel conflicts and only $150.00.

Re: Club Class
kenny, i'll trade you my PL powerstoke shocks for one of the rc18's. My tc4 didn't sell so i have no extra money as of right now. or... if we could work out running the 1:16 slashes that would save me a bunch of ass kissing in the near future.

Re: Club Class
id say 1:18 scale only. Strictly because a 1:16 will bulldoze a 1:18 car, plus they have bigger motors and a wider selection of wheels. This way if we restricted it to 1:18, it would allow mini-t's and rc18's. Although wed have to decide if it would be 2wd only, or if 4wd is allowed. Just stuff to think about.
Re: Club Class
if we go the 1:18 route it will be till late summer before i can get one. I just can't justify dropping that kinda loot right before a points series. I'll end up with at least 150 bucks in it, mini t (ebay) 80 bucks and a handfull of batts at 20 bucks a pop. If we go the ST route that will be a bit cheaper as i have most of what i need already or, we can just go back to stock SCT's which at least 4 of the us has already, and won't have to spend any money at all.

Re: Club Class
1/18 good - small, cheap, slow enough we might could come up with an indoor place for them in the winter
bad - we all dont have one yet and would have to decide between 2wd and 4wd
1/16 good - handle the tracks better than 1/18
bad - not as many people have them and they are not as cheap as some of the other options
1/10 Stadium Truck good - alot of people have them or access to one, should do great on the track as is, everyone has the batteries
bad - they would probably end up being faster than our normal classes which may not make for "fun" competitive racing
1/10 Stk Sct good - most have one and/or spares already, everyone has the batteries
bad - a couple of people dont have one and we have all "been there done that" so its not new and exciting
What I really think we should do . . . . . .
Have 2 club classes, you can pick one or the other or both, we will need some marshals anyway for those that can't do one or the other immediately
1/18 2wd & 1/10 2wd, Just spec the rear tires, batteries and motors for each and thats it. Then you still have options as to if you want to run either as a buggy, truck, touring car, amphibious vehicle etc etc, whatever chassis & body you want or can make work.
I also think we should/could add lights to the club racers for some night racing action, some of the newer losi minis come with light buckets and they have a optional light kit for them.

Re: Club Class
all valid points...btw sweet avatar kenny. I suppose for now we forget about it, as this was to try and have club members spend minimal cash for maximum fun. And it seems that right now we are in an impasse. Unless we but a feeler out to the rest of the club and see who has what as far as other vehicles.
lmao...well kenny was busy editing while i was, getting posting...kudos to you kenny for being diplomatic. And i like the idea and the marshal thing always gets over looked. Lights! hell yes! i was talkin about a night race at 323 on sat.

Re: Club Class
I think we should all get the micro desert trucks and have a portable track on a rollout carpet and portable jumps
Re: Club Class
I could be in for that, would be great for winter or bad weather . . . .
