The 5803 is in!!
So i decided to pick up the newest release of the 2wd Slash.
And i must say, i love it more, and i already loved my old one. Heres a quick photo
The 2.4 systems they put in these, though lack a LCD screen of any type, do just about everything you'd want a radio to do.
EPA,EXPO, servo reversing, elec and nitro modes, trims, sub trims, 20 model memory, automatic rx recognition. only requires 4aa too.
The radio itself is a solid black, as apposed to the old silvery grey. So my entire truck/radio setup looks sweet all black.
I haven't ran it yet, but the new tires seem MUCH grippier than the old stockers.
Where the photo was taken, i went to slide it back, and without being rough with it, i couldn't lol.
They seem a bit on the stiff side, but better than the old tires, and haven't seen any use to loosen em up.
the new model comes with BOTH a 86 and 90 spur, and a 19 and 23 pinion.
Currently there are 4 body styles to choose from for the 5803 model, i think i got the best looking one.
I'll be using this to race in the stock corr class as well, so its gonna get a dye job (all black), aluminum shock caps possibly, as they are allowed, and thats about it. If i am able to get to the track this friday, i'll post a reply with my thoughts of the radio and tire performance.

Re: The 5803 is in!!
i couldn't help it. it needed some personal touch...
Yes, the servo was installed backwards at the time of the photo. It was late night yesterday haha.. don't wrench when to tired to notice mistakes!
In my opinion, which is slightly biased haha, its the best looking stock slash yet!!
Okay, 99% stock, it has front aluminum shock caps (legal in stock class at my track to prevent very common shock blow outs)
granted, not to many of the 5803 models around yet, so i have an edge on wheel/body appeal hehe.
I dyed the chassis, tranny case, front bulkhead, and shock bodies.
I'm going to dye the servo case, but i wanted to make sure the track owner saw the servo 1st.
So there where no discrepancies as to if it really is the stock servo or not.

Go to walmart, get "Rit" dye, full a tub with the dye, put your chassis, or whatever you wanna dye in it, let it sit for about 10 min or so, pull it out, let it dry and your done.
