E buggy time!
Im looking at getting into 1:8 buggy. I dont know what I want, I am thinking about the OFNA Lx-i, its cheap, and i have to get my own electronics, but i think its a revamped hyper 7. otherwise I may get something better, who knows, any ideas on input? Oh and it will be electric
Re: E buggy time!
Well . . . . i think i have made up my mind also . . . . vorza for me. Main reasons, included electronics are what i want anyway so it works out to be cheaper than a kit. I am dumb and lazy so rtr fits me well there also. Good info for setups expained the way I need them explained on rctech. Battery compartment is one of the best in the business as far as being able to fit almost any desired packs. Will mostly run 4s for racing, but always have the option of 6s for crazy $hit. Biggest downside really for me is that included body is fugly.

Forza looks great, with it being based off the hot bodies, I'm sure it will be strong! I could also get a rc8e. I'm still ip in the air, I don't need a pro buggy, I'm no pro.
Re: E buggy time!
hey guts, get a KIT! the rtrs have to cut quality on electronics and stuff to keep the price low,you are gonna wind up upgrading real soon after you get one,you are better off getting a kit and setting it up right the first time, you will not regret it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: E buggy time!
From my research and for my needs the main vorza electics should be fine . . . . rebadged mmm 2200kv combo. The price on the vorza was kept down in part that it is basically a factory elec conversion of the HB D8, so not alot of new fabbed parts really, corners were cut on the rtr radio (but not a prob for me) and the included servo is not digital from my understanding but is up to the task, will just have to try it and see for myself on that part. Do wish it came without painted body, rtr radio, and wheels/tires . . . for less $$$ of course

Re: E buggy time!
Im with you on that. The HB may be my choice as well. Im a big fan of the Hot Bodies D8, especially since it proved to win a major racing event! So therefore its a proven platform. Id pull the radio, and servo right away. Paint the body flat black and call it a day. The body it comes with is painfully ugly. Might just buy a proline body and paint it myself. The rebadged castle equipment is probaby what I would purchase anyway, so it looks to be a winner. It will also have factory support for a while. Id use the factory tires for burning rubber on the ground or dirt. I have a set of calibers, crime fighters, and badlands already.

gadget hobbies has some used 1/8 buggies from 323. I can't remember what all was there but I do remember seeing a hot bodies. There maybe something down there for you to do an e-conv. and sell the nitro bits (if any good) on CL.

Re: E buggy time!
The Hot Bodies E stuff handles well and it price right. The Losi 8E is over priced but handles great but if you go with Losi convert a gas buggy for about half the price and its the same buggy. But make sure you use the 2.0 the 1.0 has issues.
Re: E buggy time!
yeah. . . my 1:8 buggy ideas are being put on hold. A majority of the guys that we run with are still SCT specific. So im in the process of redoing my slash with the protrac kit, and some other goodies.
Re: E buggy time!
Yea, ive read about 323 raceway, I never went there last year because I only had a SCT. While hobbytown is fun, the pavement really beats up the truck. Not to mention its an offroad truck, so we really enjoy racing offroad. I'm assuming your the owner of the track, and I sent you a PM.

Re: E buggy time!
Got my ebuggy going for the first time tonight, only ran it for a couple minutes . . . . so far so good, traction was horrible both in the street and the yard, but that was expected with the bald tires it came with. Cant wait to try it @ run a muck sunday with some better tires. So far most impressed by the predictability of the handling and the brakes are awesome compared to any of my 2wds.
